Update for July 2018

On 12 July, Pamela Scott welcomed Kevin Karney who gave a fascinating lecture entitled “How Time has been told throughout the Ages”.

On 19 July we visited “Milton’s Cottage and Chenies Manor” which was a highly successful and enjoyable event.

Tickets are still available for the Special Interest Day on 6 September with Rosalind Whyte entitled “250 years of the Royal Academy”. This will be two one-hour lectures for the morning only. Please contact Alison Lornie at alison.lornie (01932 845372).

The Committee is currently working hard to organise the 2019 programme and details will be sent to members with the renewal and AGM papers early in August. This will include details of a Tour to Norfolk which is scheduled for next year.

The Society is not due to meet again until 13 September when William Forrester will talk to us about the turbulent marriage of Vita Sackville-West and Harold Nicholson entitled “The Sackvilles of Knole and Sissinghurst”.

We look forward to seeing you all in September and hope you have an enjoyable summer with continued excellent weather!
