In September, The Arts Society is celebrating our Golden Anniversary by displaying art works in the Robert Phillips Gallery at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre in Walton. Although the Walton and Hersham NADFAS was only set up in 2003, the original NADFAS was set up in 1968. So, together with The Arts Society we reach our 50th anniversary this year.
We hope our artistic members will contribute a work which might be selected for this exhibition. The theme is Celebration. It is open to amateur artists – including those producing craftwork. The ‘artist’ must be either a Member of The Arts Society Walton (TASW) or a Resident of Elmbridge or
someone enrolled on the Arts and Crafts courses at the Riverhouse Barn Arts Centre.
In order to select works for the exhibition we are asking the artists to send a digital photograph of their chosen artwork by email; the suggested submission period is 1 st July to 31 August 2018. To accommodate a fair number of artworks, framed paintings should be no larger than 90cm x 60cm.
There will be no charge to enter and the works will not be for sale.
The selection process will be in two stages. In the first round a group representing TASW will use the digital images to shortlist works to be brought in for final selection. The second round will take place in early September 2018 when the Selectors will ask to see a number of the art works in reality. We shall ask for art to be brought to All Saints Church Hall in Hersham in September. The final selection will be made then.
